Rivals Sports Grille releasing its 3rd beer, a lager

MIDDLEBURG HEIGHTS, Ohio – Rivals Sports Grille is releasing a lager – its third beer in conjunction with Hop View Brewing Co. in Madison – this month.

The lager is brewed with Mount Hood and Saaz hops, is 6 percent alcohol, and has 35 International Bittering Units.

Since December, the bar has released a Pale Ale and Double India Pale ale.

Rivals will hold a beer and cheese event Tuesday, May 16, with Joel Sandry of Double Wing Brewing Co. The launch party for the lager will be 7 p.m. Friday, May 19.

About Rivals beer

Rivals Sports Grille and Hop View Brewing are following their Pale Ale collaboration with a Double India Pale Ale.

Hop View is the contract brewing arm in Madison with Double Wing, formerly Cellar Rats Brewery.

Rivals got into the brewing business in December. Both of its first two beers became top sellers, outselling all of the other crafts on tap at the bar.

Rivals, at 6710 Smith Road, will mark its 10th anniversary this July.
